Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs)
Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) are qualified instructors who are certified by Microsoft to deliver Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) instructor-led courses to Information Technology (IT) professionals and developers.
Requirements:
The requirements for this certification are numerous but break down to 4 steps:
- Earn an accepted Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Business Solutions/Microsoft Dynamics credential
- Prove your instructional presentation skills
- Obtain a Metrics that Matter (MTM) ID
- Apply to become an MCT and pay the annual fee
Check with Microsoft Learning and click on the Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Program Guide to get the details. You must have the credentials and skills to back up your MCT. Microsoft allows only MCT's to use their official curriculum so they keep the standards high.
Costs:
The certification fee for an MCT is $400 in the United States. Check Microsoft's list for fees in additional countries.
Recertification:
Although there is not a recertification, you must continually earn positive MTM scores and keep your MCP certifications current. In addition, your requirements and standing will be reviewed quarterly by Microsoft.
